Field Trip Guide – Job Description

As a Field Trip Guide, you will be leading our Granary Road educational & interpretive experiences with a friendly, outgoing, and engaging attitude.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducting educational tours and programs for school field trips, groups, and the public.

  • Exploring the Discovery Trails with guests while initiating conversations, sharing knowledge, and answering questions.

  • Setting up and facilitating special events, day camps, activities, crafts, etc.

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of new educational programs.

  • Maintaining the cleanliness, organization and condition of the trails, playground, and facilities at Granary Road.

  • Learning and assisting with Guest Service duties.

  • Perform any and all duties as requested by the employer that are reasonable and that are customarily performed by a person holding a similar position in the industry.

 

The successful candidate will have the following skills & experience:

  • A kid-friendly attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for agriculture and environmental sciences.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • A background in Biology, Earth Sciences, or Education is an asset.

  • Due to Granary Road’s location outside of city limits, your own reliable transportation is required.

  • Must be able to work weekdays (Mon-Fri) from May until end of June.

Position Details

  • Part-time and Full-time positions available.

  • Field Trips are scheduled for 2.5 – 3hrs per group with multiple groups a day between May and August.

  • This is a perfect position for retired teachers, stay at home moms, or somebody looking to work with youth
